Villa Eilenroc annual Open Day.
Day of the Roses.
Today was the annual Villa Eilenroc open day. This exceptional residence symbolizes the luxury and voluptuousness of the Belle Epoque. It was built in 1867 following plans by Charles Garnier, the architect of the Paris and Monte Carlo opera houses.
The park surrounding the villa is planted with traditional species of the Mediterranean landscape. At the heart of this conservation area is a public rose garden.
The garden offers the fragrances and essences of its thousands of varieties. The majority of them were created in Antibes, the capital of roses. In 2011 a scented garden was also created at the entrance to the rose garden.
