The Annual Pointus race from Port Salis
Annual Pointus race from Port Salis to La Gravette.
Organised as part of the annual Fete de la Saint-Pierre the Pointus race starts at Port Salis and ends at La Gravette. I was invited along by Carolyn from team Safraniers, the Orange team, who were rowing in the ‘La vie en Rose. Orange and white are the Safranier official colours hence the Orange outfits. Usually Carolyn races for Port de l’Olivette but this year she wanted to support the Commune Libre du Safraniers.
Competing were 2 boats from la Salis, 2 from l’Olivette and 1 from Port Croûton. Two of the 5 Pointus had an all female team.
Oh and the winners were………… the guys from Port de l’Olivette on ‘Lundi au Soliel’. Carolyn and the rest of the her team came second. Well done ladies!
Unfortunately I couldn’t stay until the end but apparently the partying went on until way past midnight.
