Keeping watch

Recently I have been photographing the many Cap d’Antibes statues which people have outside, on or in the gardens of their villas. It’s amazing how many of them I hadn’t noticed before until I decided to look out for them. These Cap d’Antibes statues are as diverse as the villas they guard or proudly adorn. My personal favourite is the ‘stripper statue’ as I call her. When I took the picture I had no idea it was a cheeky one, I was pretty far away and from a distance it looked like a religious statue. It turned out to be quite different. I often wonder if she represents someone particular or has any relation to the villas owner. Maybe one day I will have the opportunity to find out.
