Food and Drink

There are so many great places to eat and drink in Cap d’Antibes and most offer amazing views of the Mediterranean. Below are a few of my favourites.

Restaurant Bacon.

A fabulous fish restaurant famous for it’s Bouillabaise and a favourite of the stars during the Cannes film festival. The best time to go is during the Film festival and in July and August.  Read all about this family restaurant here

Le Bistrot du Curé

A great Café up at the Phare de la Garoupe serving sandwiches and salads. It’s a lovely space to sit and have a drink or a snack under the shade of the pine trees. The Café also has a very pretty garden at the back.

Insider Tip: In July and August, on Thurs evenings, they often have live music and tapas, check before you go as days sometimes vary.

Open April until September.

Plage Keller (Restaurant Cesar) and Plage Joseph.

Two family run beach front restaurants on Plage de la Garpoupe. The Cesar serves French Mediterranean cuisine and all their seafood is sourced locally. The speciality is wild sea bass roasted in a salt crust.

The menu at Plage Joseph includes many of the classic dishes from Plage Keller but also offers the chance to try Asian specialities such as Sushi, Sashimi, stir fries and Thai salads.

Le Rocher

Plage de la Garoupe serving Salads, Omlettes, Burgers and the like. Le Rocher has been here for decades and remains a very popular lunch spot with the locals. There are often ques for a table so I recommend booking, especially at the weekends.

Hotel Belles Rives, 33 Boulevard Edouard Baudoin, 06160.

La Passagère, a Michelin starred restaurant at the Hotel Belles Rives with a focus on local seafood.

Hotel-Belles-Rives

Afternoon tea at the Belles Rives served to you in the Piano Bar or on the outside terrace. With beautiful desserts by Pâtissier Steve Moracchini and accompanied by a glass of champagne of course.  Moracchini  was awarded the 2016 Pastry Chef of the Year from Gault & Millau so you know you will be served something very special. Available at weekends from 3pm the best time to go is after 5pm. I went at three and in the hot August sun my desserts were literally melting before my eyes, as was I.

La Plage, the hotels’ Beach restaurant, enjoy your lunch on the edge of the Mediterranean. Provencal flavours centred around grilled fish, the famous salad bar, langoustine skewers and, of course, a perfectly chilled glass of rosé.

Piano Bar Fitzgerald. A beautiful art deco Champagne and cocktail bar named after the famous writer. In the evenings, elegance takes hold as the sun sets to the melody of the piano. The night remains tender with a distinguished atmosphere, assisted by the masterful creative talents of the Barman. The perfect spot for a romantic cocktail or two.

This is one of THE most famous hotels in the world and has hosted many celebrities, royalty and politicians from all over the world. To experience some real Riviera A-List luxury and maybe catch a glimpse of a star or two why not treat yourself to lunch in one of their two restaurants overlooking the famous infinity pool.

Alternatively there can hardly be a more stylish way to watch the sun set over the Côte d’Azur than with a glass of Champagne on the rooftop of the Eden-Roc Champagne Lounge.
